Testimonial
“As we prepared for our initial product launch of Piano Wizard, we were referred to Gung-Ho as a supplier that could provide expertise in the design, manufacturing, and fulfillment of our software and piano keyboard kits. After our first meeting, we knew Gung-Ho would be a perfect solution for our requirements. We were immediately assigned a program management team, led by Mary Babiasz, to guide us through every step of production. Gung-Ho designed our packaging and provided us with printed prototypes to present to retail buyers which helped us to make sales. They also assisted us with item numbers, SKUs, and assembly instructions to ensure our products were manufactured exactly the way we wanted. At the same time, the team worked with us to integrate all of our systems so orders would seamlessly flow through Gung-Ho’s GENIE system for accurate and on-time delivery. In short, Gung-Ho helped us manage our launch and manage our success.”

Background
Allegro Multimedia was a relatively young, typical start-up with limited in-house resources and many persons "wearing many hats." As they prepared to launch their new Piano Wizard software and keyboard product line, they needed a supplier for their manufacturing and fulfillment that could easily ramp-up to handle rapid growth and additional product lines. The supplier would also need to be able to deal with spikes in demand such as those created by infomercials, HSN, and the Christmas holiday season.
Challenge
As Allegro Multimedia began its first-ever product launch, how could it manufacture and distribute its products through retail outlets, Web stores, and infomercials in the shortest amount of time to maximize initial product sales and be prepared for the important holiday shopping season?
Solution
After considering the options, Allegro Multimedia decided it would be best to outsource their manufacturing and fulfillment to Gung-Ho. Since their product was introduced into the channel late in the season, it was imperative that a rapid deployment strategy be put in place.
Immediately, Gung-Ho became a part of Allegro Multimedia’s “virtual” operations team, adding the expertise necessary to design and manufacture their printed materials in a manner to enhance their image and offer exceptional functionality. Gung-Ho used CAD/CAM software, mockups, and working prototypes to ensure consistent design, proper construction, and fit of the fifteen new products that were scheduled to be released at the same time.
After the piano keyboards and cables were received, Gung-Ho made sure the products were accurately assembled and shipped in the shortest amount of time possible. When retail orders required delivery within one week, Gung-Ho ensured on-time delivery by working around the clock. In fact, Gung-Ho often added or reconfigured SKUs to build and ship Piano Wizard kits the same day components were received from Allegro Multimedia's hardware suppliers.
To successfully manage the fulfillment of Allegro Multimedia’s orders, Gung-Ho integrated its GENIE system with the various order originators so that all orders, regardless of source, could ship directly to the distributor, retailer, or consumer. Additionally, Gung-Ho’s Web-based GOLD system provided Allegro Multimedia with real-time information regarding all manufacturing and fulfillment operations.
