Why would a client want to use Gung-Ho rather than an in-house manufacturer?
As described in Our Evolution, Gung-Ho ensures that the best supplier or team of suppliers handles each client requirement. Gung-Ho has no vested interest in manufacturing in-house. Gung-Ho does not have to worry about covering the expensive overhead of large staffs and brick-and-mortar buildings. Gung-Ho simply places the business where it makes the most sense.

Why would a client want to use Gung-Ho rather than multiple suppliers?
Given the choice, most clients prefer to deal with as few suppliers as possible. Unfortunately, a single-supplier solution usually means the client must accept some compromise because the supplier is not the best at everything it provides. Gung-Ho solves this dilemma by offering the client a single source that will manage multiple "Best-of-Breed" suppliers.

Does it cost more to use Gung-Ho instead of going direct?
No. When a Gung-Ho supplier receives an order, it is an organized and well-defined job ready to go to the shop floor. The supplier has little or no cost for making the sale – it is incremental business for that supplier. Supplier pricing is thus lower because it is based more upon variable costs than fixed costs. Moreover, supplier pricing is based upon Gung-Ho's total volume of business rather than that of an individual client thereby making Gung-Ho's buying power the client's buying power.

How can service and responsiveness be improved by using Gung-Ho?
At Gung-Ho, we understand that turnkey manufacturing and fulfillment is fraught with constant change and rush requests. We also realize that we are a service organization and we are willing to do "whatever it takes to get the job done." In turn, our "Best-of-Breed" suppliers respond to Gung-Ho based upon the total volume of business Gung-Ho represents. No single client can influence suppliers this way. Furthermore, if a client deals with a supplier directly, they suffer the consequences when the supplier says, "No, it can't be done." At Gung-Ho, we find a way to "get it done." Scheduling and capacity limitations are virtually eliminated because another Gung-Ho supplier can handle special requests in the rare instance that the current supplier is unable to perform.

What if a client wants multiple manufacturing and distribution locations for geographic benefits or disaster recovery?
This is one of Gung-Ho's greatest strengths – clients benefit by working with a single supplier that can manufacture and distribute based upon the client's unique requirements. Gung-Ho's U.S. manufacturing and distribution locations include facilities in Alabama, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah with a combined facility total of over 3,000,000 square feet and production capacity in excess of 1,000,000 kits per day. International locations include facilities in Canada, Europe, Asia, and Australia. These locations are designed to serve Gung-Ho's current client base. Additional facilities will be established based upon future client requirements.

How does Gung-Ho integrate the operations of multiple manufacturing and distribution locations?
There are three key factors that contribute to Gung-Ho's ability to successfully provide its clients with a single source for operations and information. First, the client deals with a single Gung-Ho Program Manager (or Program Management Team) that is responsible for all aspects of the client relationship and oversees all of the manufacturing and distribution facilities. Second, Gung-Ho's Operations Team ensures that each facility performs according to Gung-Ho's requirements. Operations personnel are either located on-site or travel to the respective facilities on an as-needed basis. Finally, Gung-Ho's GENIE and GOLD information systems integrate Gung-Ho's worldwide operations via the Internet to provide its clients with a single source for comprehensive information and reporting. In short, Gung-Ho seamlessly and transparently integrates all aspects of the manufacturing and distribution process.

What information systems does Gung-Ho use?
Gung-Ho uses two proprietary information systems to interconnect its clients, suppliers, and employees. GENIE, the "Gung-Ho Enterprise Network and Information Exchange" system, seamlessly integrates Gung-Ho's worldwide manufacturing and distribution operations via the Internet. GENIE is maintained in a secure data center environment designed to provide high system availability, rapid scalability, and redundancy. GOLD, the "Gung-Ho On-Line Data" system, is a secure Web portal to GENIE that enables Gung-Ho's clients to use a Web browser to manage their orders on-line and receive real-time information regarding virtually every aspect of Gung-Ho's manufacturing and distribution operations. Clients with a GOLD account can easily check order status, track shipments, enter new orders, change orders, check inventory, add and update bills of materials and assembly instructions, run MRP, process returns, and generate reports. Gung-Ho's clients, suppliers, and employees can also use GOLD to create, view, modify, and exchange artwork files, documents, spreadsheets, etc. All on-line integration and information is provided at no charge and is password protected. Gung-Ho and its award-winning GENIE and GOLD information systems have been featured in publications such as The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and Outsourcing Journal; and have been the subject of case studies published by companies including Microsoft, Citrix Systems, Surebridge, and NaviSite.

How does Gung-Ho utilize "sell-through" to minimize client inventories and obsolescence?
In addition to supplying the products, Gung-Ho can optionally handle all aspects of its clients' sales to end-user customers by seamlessly integrating front-end order management (including e-commerce) with individual fulfillment and bulk distribution. Finished good inventories are kept to a minimum and sales are closely monitored to ensure that additional product is manufactured just before it is actually required. Gung-Ho clients thus benefit from a single supplier that utilizes "sell-through" to reduce inventories to a minimum, determine manufacturing quantities, and replenish finished goods on an "as needed" basis. In this respect Gung-Ho manages its clients' success by manufacturing and shipping "just-in-time, not just-in-case."

How does Gung-Ho employ "Only-the-Best" Program Managers?
Because we believe that Program Management is the most important factor to ensure success, Gung-Ho focuses on hiring "Only-the-Best" Program Managers available. The top candidates come to Gung-Ho because they are stimulated by the exciting and challenging work environment and because they are rewarded based upon the quality of work they perform. In addition to a base salary, they receive a commission on the business they successfully oversee. While it is common for salespersons to earn a commission, most companies do not offer the same to Program Managers. At Gung-Ho, this does not make sense. The Program Managers consistently satisfy and exceed the daily requests and needs of our clients. They are second-to-none when it comes to ensuring our clients' success and deserve to be rewarded accordingly.
